Testimony Jaga don come again. His new single “Oruko Jesu” dropped only last week, and it has already climbed into the trending gospel list on Audiomack.
The title is Yoruba for “the name of Jesus”, so you know from the start where the focus of this one lies.
Born Salau Aliu Olayiwola in Ibadan, with roots in Ijebu-Remo, Ogun State, the singer is known for bringing Fuji and Afropop flavour into gospel music. He is also the pioneer of the Street Gospel Movement, a ministry that takes the gospel and welfare work to the streets of Lagos.
Many people first knew him through “Igara”, the 2018 single that won him Artiste of the Year at the LIMA Awards in 2019. Since then he has kept the releases coming, singing in Yoruba, English and Pidgin.
Make you no dull yourself. Hit play on the audio player below and lift that name high with Testimony Jaga on “Oruko Jesu”.
