Minister GUC has given Nigerian churches many songs to sing, and “The Promise” is one of his 2026 releases.

The Port Harcourt-born worship leader, real name Gift Ugochi Christopher, wrote and performed it himself. It is a live recording, and the official video has already gone past a million views on his YouTube channel, while the Audiomack upload sits close to 290,000 plays.

At just over eleven minutes, it is the kind of worship song that works well for a quiet time at home or a long prayer session in church.

The comfort at the heart of “The Promise”

Minister GUC sums it up in one line on the official video: “The Promise is a reminder that God is still with us.” The song is about God staying faithful and still working, even when life feels shaky and you cannot see what tomorrow holds.

The video was recorded at the Zimbabwe edition of Revealed, a concert he hosts, with a team of backing singers joining him on stage.
