Zlatan and Davita Lamai have announced October 24, 2026 as their wedding date, months after the baby mama comment and court wedding photos. Here’s the story.
Remember when Zlatan reportedly called Davita his baby mama and not his wife? Well, plot twist.
The Zanku singer and Davita Lamai are getting married on October 24, 2026. They announced it Thursday night with a “Save the Date” video on Instagram. The caption was just the date, nothing else.
The video is narrated by one of their sons, and it’s easily the sweetest part. “When I think about love, I think about my mommy and daddy,” he says, before thanking God for his family.
The wedding already has a hashtag too: #DTTheUnion. Davido dropped into the comments with “Na man U be,” which is about as much hype as anyone could ask for.
So how did we get here?
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster to follow. In February 2023, the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram and break-up rumours took over. Neither of them said a word, and they later got back together.
Then early this year, a viral post called Davita his wife. Zlatan reportedly replied that she was his baby mama, not his wife. People had a lot to say about that.
By March, though, they’d shared family photos with matching rings on both their fingers.
Davita had also started using Omoniyi, Zlatan’s surname, on her Instagram page. In May, photos from a private court ceremony surfaced online. Still, no comment from the couple.

Then in July, Teni introduced Davita as Zlatan’s wife while they were travelling to Soso Soberekon’s wedding. She even said in a video that a wedding was coming.
There’s no venue yet, no guest list, and no details about the ceremony. Neither Zlatan nor Davita has addressed the earlier baby mama comment since the announcement.
The couple has two sons, Toluwalase and Benaiah, and the younger one was born in 2024.
Zlatan doesn’t share much of his family life online, so this video feels like a rare peek inside.
Maybe that’s why it hits differently. After months of guessing games, they finally answered everyone in their own way, through their child’s voice.
Now we wait for October 24.
