Veteran actress Kate Henshaw has finally broken her silence on what really happened between her and fellow screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji.

In a recent chat on the Tea With Tay podcast, the 53 year old actress got real about her relationship with Genevieve. She opened up about how their once solid friendship simply faded away.
Kate admitted that she still does not fully understand what went wrong. She said she cannot pinpoint the exact reason their bond broke down. But she has a few thoughts.
According to Kate, they may have simply grown apart over time. She also suspects there might have been some level of mistrust from Genevieve’s side. But honestly, she remains confused about the whole thing.
In her own words, “We grew apart. Maybe she had some kind of mistrust about me… I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what came over her.”
This is not the first time Kate has spoken about Genevieve’s reserved nature. Back in 2024, during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, she shared similar thoughts. She explained that Genevieve’s quiet and distant attitude sometimes makes people question if they have done something wrong.
Kate recalled a moment when she felt unsure about her relationship with Genevieve because of that distant behaviour. But everything changed during a film shoot. She then realised that Genevieve’s actions were never personal. The screen goddess simply enjoys her own space.
Despite the distance, Kate made it clear that she has nothing but respect for Genevieve. She even compared her to Hollywood star Angelina Jolie. Someone who pulls away from the crowd but still has a good heart.
Kate also shared a sweet reunion story. She said that even after years of not speaking, Genevieve was extremely kind to her when they met again on a Netflix set. Genevieve even sent her a message to say goodbye when she left the event early. That small gesture meant a lot to Kate.
