At a packed Spotify show in London, Asake gave fans a sneak of four unreleased tracks from M$NEY, blending crowd energy, surprise moments, and preview-only magic.
Asake turned a special Spotify London night into a small revelation, dropping short previews of four songs from his upcoming album within the first 100 words of his set. That was the reality for a lucky group of Asake’s closest listeners on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
But the night held an even bigger surprise. Asake did not just perform M$NEY. He gave the audience a first listen to four songs that have never been released. Nobody saw that coming.
Spotify partnered with Asake to host a one-night-only concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, one of the oldest and most storied theatres in the world. The event was strictly invite-only, welcoming family, close friends, and Asake’s top Spotify listeners.
It was the first time Asake performed M$NEY in a live setting since the album dropped in May. And the setting matched the album’s ambition perfectly. A live orchestra filled the room with sound as Asake moved through the project, song by song. The entire performance was captured on film, with a full concert film set to land on Spotify very soon.
Released on 1 May 2026 under GIRAN REPUBLIC and EMPIRE, M$NEY is Asake’s fourth studio album, and arguably his boldest creative move yet.
The 13-track project opens with a live choral arrangement, which immediately signals that this is not the Afrobeats record you were expecting.From there, it travels through orchestral textures, jazz-influenced strings, dance floor energy, and amapiano grooves. It is the kind of album that does not stay in one lane, and that is clearly intentional.
Asake has spoken openly about what drove the project. “M$NEY is a reflection of my spiritual and creative journey,” he said. “Everything flows from a place of gratitude to God, and every moment that’s shaped me.”
The album’s commercial impact has been impossible to ignore. M$NEY topped streaming charts in over 19 countries upon release, including Nigeria, and climbed to number 8 in the United States. Asake also entered the Kworb Data global ranking as the 15th most active digital artist in the world, a list shared with some of music’s biggest names.
He already holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and remains the most-streamed Nigerian artist of all time on Spotify. Two Grammy nominations later, the trajectory only keeps rising.
