Ayo Benzi is back with “Mgbeke,” and this one comes with a different kind of energy.
Released alongside “Melo” as part of a double release in July 2026, “Mgbeke” gives Ayo Benzi another chance to show the sound and personality that have been getting people to pay attention to him. The two songs were released as a way of showing different sides of his artistry.
For those who may not know Ayo Benzi yet, his real name is Michael Ayodeji Benson, and his journey into music was not exactly the typical overnight success story. He started taking music more seriously after someone heard him singing while he was working at a car wash and encouraged him to record. He later went on to win Next Afrobeats Star Season 1, helping put his name in front of a much wider audience.
Now, “Mgbeke” is becoming one of the songs people are paying attention to. The track has appeared on the Official Nigeria Top 100, and it has also been getting airplay in Nigeria. It recently appeared at number 54 on a Nigerian airplay chart, showing that the song is already getting some movement beyond streaming platforms.
