Before the Gehn Gehn era, before “Start to Dance”, there was “Rihanna”. This is the song that turned the Owhelogbo born singer into a name every Nigerian club DJ knew.
It was meant to drop on Valentine’s Day 2013, but the release was pushed back after the death of Goldie Harvey. When it finally came out, it earned a Headies nomination for Best Reggae/Dancehall Single.
Two years later, Orezi added it as a bonus track on his debut album, The Gehn Gehn Album, next to songs like “Zarokome”.

The Rihanna look-alike behind the video
Orezi could not get the Barbadian star herself, so he cast a look-alike instead. He shot the video in South Africa, saying he wanted “to achieve something different”.
The gamble paid off. The video went to number one on the Pulse Nigeria video chart and won Best Dance Hall/Reggae Video at the 2013 Nigeria Music Video Awards.
