Some songs are for dancing, and some are for remembering. This long recording from King Pereama Freetown carries the name of King Robert Ebizimor, one of the biggest figures Ijaw music has ever had.
Ebizimor died on July 31, 2014, and Ijaw people still mark that date every year with a remembrance gathering in Angalabiri, Bayelsa State. The title of this track points to the 2020 edition of that remembrance.
Pereama is one of the Ijaw highlife acts who keep the old tradition alive. He shared this recording on his official Audiomack page in July 2025, and at over sixteen minutes it is the kind of long-form recording Ijaw highlife lovers know well.
Pour a cold drink, sit back and play it on the Audiomack player below in honour of a legend.
