Twenty minutes of Okpan Arhibo is the kind of thing that can carry a whole Urhobo family meeting, and “Ogonigoni” gives you exactly that.
Music Tempo Production, the company that has been putting his catalogue on streaming platforms, released this one in May 2024. It is one of the later drops from that effort, coming about two years after “Akpodiogaga” reached digital stores in 2022.
The long running time is a big part of the charm. Arhibo belonged to a generation of Urhobo highlife bandleaders who let a groove breathe, so there is no rush here at all.
Pour something cold, sit back and play the official upload of “Ogonigoni” below.
