Before “Simple Life” and his big link up with Erigga and Zlatan on “Family Time”, there was “Wetin We Gain”, the 2018 single that put Ughelli’s Victor AD on the map.
The song picked up Best Pop Single and Best New Act at the 2018 South South Music Awards, then earned Song of the Year and Best Pop Single nominations at The Headies 2019.
Its music video, directed by Adindu Collins, went up on YouTube in July 2018 and has since passed 12 million views.

A talk with God about the hustle
Victor AD has said the song came from his own life, and he describes it as a conversation between God and himself. At its heart is the chase for money and material success, and the question of what all that struggle finally brings.
He has called it a “hustler’s anthem”, while The Guardian’s Joey Akan described it as an “aspirational song”. Both labels fit a song about pushing hard while asking what the push is really for.
