Mavin Records has warned the public against dealing with talent manager Lotanna Harry, calling him unauthorised. He says it’s all a misunderstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here’s a story that’s got people talking this week, and honestly, it’s the kind of drama that makes you go “wait, what?”

Mavin Records, yes, the label behind some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, just put out an official disclaimer warning the public about a talent manager named Lotanna Harry. According to the label, Harry has been going around presenting himself as someone who speaks for Mavin. Problem is, they say that’s simply not true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter from their legal team, dated September 10 but only made public this week, Mavin cleared the air. They said the only real connection they’ve ever had with Harry was as a paid video model, someone they hired on a subcontract basis for a few videos. That’s it. No management role. No authority to speak or negotiate on their behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Mavin isn’t playing about this one. They warned businesses and members of the public not to trust anything Harry says while claiming to represent them, adding that anyone who deals with him under that impression does so “entirely at his own risk.” They even hinted they could take legal action if this continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now here’s where it gets interesting. Harry didn’t stay quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He came out to say the whole thing is just a misunderstanding. He agrees he’s not a Mavin staff member, but explained that he runs something called the Record Label Access Network, or RLAN for short. It’s basically a platform that connects record labels, artists, and other industry players across Nigeria. According to him, Mavin is just one of several labels featured on RLAN for visibility, and that doesn’t mean he works for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So who’s right? Depends on how you look at it. Mavin clearly feels their name was used in a way they didn’t approve. Harry, on the other hand, seems to think this is just how industry visibility platforms work, and that people are reading too much into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
