Before Yemi Solade became the Nollywood face everyone recognizes, he was just a broke student willing to do something wild for a little cash. And by wild, we mean pretending to be crippled in church so someone could “heal” him in front of a congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The veteran actor dropped this gist during a recent chat with Feel Right News TV, and honestly, it’s the kind of confession you don’t expect from someone this respected in the industry. He wasn’t famous yet. He was just a student trying to survive, and apparently, survival meant playing along with a staged miracle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his own words, “I was used for a miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple; they paid; I used the money to drink; then I was a student.” No shame, no long story, just straight facts about hustling however he could back then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He didn’t name names either. “The people involved are still alive; I just don’t want to mention names,” he said, which honestly makes you wonder just how many “miracles” out there have a similar backstory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, here’s the thing about Solade. He’s never really been one to sugarcoat his answers, and this interview proved it again. Because right after that confession, he moved on to clear up something people have been whispering about for a while: those rumors that he invites women to hotels for auditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His response? People are reading too much into a normal part of his job. He explained that whether you’re a man or a woman, if you need to see him, he’ll ask you to come meet him wherever he’s staying, hotel or not. “Whenever I say that to women, they think I want to sleep with them,” he said, sounding almost tired of having to explain it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For him, it’s simple. Acting means constant travel, and travel means hotels. That’s just how the job works, and he doesn’t see why a location should automatically mean something suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
