Turns out her story is way deeper than the fun videos she posts.

She recently spoke at a church in the UK, and what she shared caught a lot of people off guard. Jarvis said her mum has bipolar disorder, and honestly, living with that wasn’t easy at all.

“I came into a family through a mother who has bipolar disorder, and growing up with her has been very stressful and depressing,” she said.

Anyone who’s watched someone go through bipolar disorder up close knows exactly what she means. One day everything’s calm. Next thing, it’s not. Jarvis described it herself: her mum could be “nice and good,” and then suddenly turn violent, breaking things and lashing out with hurtful words.
Now here’s the part that really hits different.

Jarvis said she never knew her father. Not just absent, she genuinely doesn’t know who he is. Her mum traveled abroad, got pregnant, came back to Nigeria, and that was that. No details, no clarity, just stories that kept changing.

“Growing up without a dad has not been good because my mom is not mentally ok,” she said.
Imagine growing up with that kind of uncertainty. No father to ask questions to, and a mother whose condition made even the basics of childhood shaky. It’s the kind of thing that could easily break someone.

But here’s where her grandparents come in, and honestly, this is the sweet part of the story. Jarvis said they stepped up and gave her the structure she needed. Strict, but in the way that actually helped. She’s said herself that without them, things could’ve gone a very different way, especially with school fees being tight and peer pressure lurking around every corner.

Then there’s the TikTok chapter. A friend convinced her to try going live, and she did it with her sister just to see what would happen. Their first stream pulled in 200 views and earned them $5. Doesn’t sound like much, but that was the spark.

Jarvis’s story is a reminder that you never really know what someone’s carrying behind the smiles and trending videos. Sometimes the loudest online personalities are quietly holding the heaviest stories.

TikTok star Jarvis shares her painful childhood story, a mum battling bipolar disorder, a father she never knew, and how she found fame online.
