So Hilda Baci did something that has nothing to do with cooking marathons, and somehow it’s the thing everyone’s talking about today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A video making the rounds online shows the chef stepping right outside her restaurant, apron and all, to catch people walking or driving by. Not sending staff. Not putting up a flyer. Her, in person, on the roadside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the clip, she walks up to passersby and says, “Hello. It’s lunchtime,” before nudging them to come in, sweetening the deal with a discount for anyone who stops to listen. It’s such a simple, almost old-school move, but it worked. You can see cars actually turning into the restaurant’s driveway while she’s still talking, and she’s right there ushering people in herself as the crowd builds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about that for a second. This is someone who already broke a world record for cooking, someone with a big enough name that she probably doesn’t need to hustle like this anymore. And yet there she was, doing the most grassroots, hands-on version of marketing you can imagine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
