Afrobeat star Davido just did it again. His sixth album, “ORIAD\u00c9,”<\/em> landed on July 31, and honestly, the timeline hasn’t been the same since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the thing that’s got people buzzing: this is the shortest album Davido has ever put out. All five of his previous projects came with 17 songs each. This time? Just 13. For an artist who’s been consistent about that number for over a decade, that’s a real shift. And it kind of feels intentional, like he’s saying “new era, new rules.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The features on this one are stacked too. You’ve got Mayorkun, Fola, Black Sherif, Llona, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura, NO11, JAZZWRLD, and GL_Ceejay all showing up across the tracklist. That’s a proper mix of Nigerian, South African, and international talent, which tells you Davido wasn’t trying to stay in one lane this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’d actually been teasing this for weeks. Back in June, he announced the release date with a video where he rocked full Yoruba regalia, backed by a eulogy chanted in Yoruba. Then there’s “Gimme Dat Ting” <\/em>with NO11, which blends Afrobeats with Amapiano and leans hard into that confident, “I made it”<\/em> energy Davido’s known for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
